If prosecutors feel comfortable in breaking the law when they’re dealing with a multi-millionaire and sitting United States Senator then you and I are truly screwed in the courtroom.
The problem in our society isn’t that not enough people vote. It’s that too many uninformed people vote. We don’t need to Rock the Vote, we need to Stop the Vote.
It’s a common refrain, we need better people in office. Smarter people. Experts that could cut through the crap and make wise, informed decisions. As an academic myself I can safely say this is a horrible idea.
There is always a market, for everything we do, and there is always a way for government to justify interfering in it.
Run for office. There’s no prerequisite. If people like Trump and Ocasio-Cortez have done anything to our politics they have proven that literally anybody can be a politician.
